Character name: Harvey Specter
Canon name: Suits
Canon point: The end of Season 3, Episode 16: No Way Out
Age: 40
Species: Human
History: wiki, or wiki has a smaller summary of each season.
Personality:
Arrogant The first time we meet Harvey, he pretends to have something over a client when the paper he has is really nothing. He hires an associate, Mike Ross, who has no law degree. He constantly says he's the best or the exception to a rule. He lies and cheats and bluffs his way through a lot of situations.
Loyal: Harvey takes loyalty very serious. You stay loyal to the ones who helped you to where you're at, and you're loyal to the ones you've helped raise up. No excuses. An example of this is when Jessica threatened to fire Mike because he had no law degree and Harvey said he’d quit too then.
Moral code: Harvey has a very certain set of rules to go by. Loyalty is super important. Stealing, and throwing someone under the bus, false claims in court, and cheating (as in, on a spouse) are all not okay to Harvey.
Hardened exterior:The whole cheating thing came from his parents. When Harvey was sixteen, he caught his mother cheating. He said she went on, just making his dad a “fool.” He didn’t want to upset his father, so he kept silent about it for two years until his mother eventually left them. I believe this is the start of Harvey’s belief that caring about people is weakness. He says, “They think you care, they’ll walk all over you.” This belief has affected his life greatly. His hardened exterior is what protects him from other people, but it also tends to keep people out.
Caring: Mike and Donna seem to be the ones he lets in the most, as Donna knows all about his family and Harvey tells Mike about his parents in 2x10. He claims that he doesn’t care about things, but he does. He cares deeply, and that’s what scares him. He cares about Mike, which Mike points out at the end of the pilot, and is also shown in 2x12 when he gets mad that somebody beat Mike up. Harvey will stick with the people he loves through thick and thin.
Sex: Just broke up with his girlfriend, so he's probably going to dive into sex as a coping mechanism. He's losing Mike to Mike's new job, too, so he's reeling from that loss, too. He's going to work on a way out, but he's (as I put in my sample) going to be following the rules until he breaks them. Also thinking he's pretty straight, but might experiment with a guy he had an emotional attachment to.
Inventory:
- suit
- wallet with about $100 USD, a number of credit cards, ID, picture of his ex Scottie
- dead cell phone
- keys to a car and his penthouse
Powers: N/A
Sample: [Video]
[Harvey turns on the camera. He's put together, but he's wearing more casual clothes than what he arrived in, a t-shirt and shorts, courtesy of Eames.]
I'll just tell it straight. I'm not happy to be here. I want to go back to my job and my life. I'm sure a lot of you feel the same way. But if we let that stop us, we're never going to get back to our lives. So why the hell aren't all of you having sex?
Yeah, yeah, I know. Find a way to get around the rules. But sometimes you have to follow the rules while you're trying to break them.
Heard about those roses, though. [A snort.] Sounds like a ton of fun.
[Hangs up.]
Anything else?: Nope!
